How tattoo prices are formed
These factors decide how much time and work a tattoo needs.
Size
A larger area means more work. A small tattoo is usually finished in one session; a sleeve needs several.
Detail & style
Realism, fine shading and complex ornaments take more time than a simple line tattoo.
Colour
Colour work and gradients generally take longer than black and grey.
Placement
Some areas (ribs, hands, neck) are technically more demanding and need extra care.
Cover-ups
Covering or restoring an old tattoo needs a well-planned design and often a larger area.
Custom design
Your design is created from your idea — it is part of the process and agreed before the session.

It depends on the area and your own tolerance. Areas with more muscle and thicker skin (shoulder, forearm, thigh) are usually less sensitive than ribs, wrists or feet.
